Russia being prepared for prophetic destiny-Part 1

The Prophet Ezekiel also commissioned by God as the "Watchman of Israel" recorded a prophecy given him over 2,600 years ago descibing a future conflict that would change the balance of global power. The prophecy recorded in the Book of Ezekiel chapters 38-39 indicate the rise in power of Russia allied along with a confederation of Arab/Islamic states to make war against Israel. Ezekiel through the Holy Spirit identifies that the hand of God will guide Russia and company against his land and people Israel that the nations will acknowledge his great glory. It was once thought that Russia would be an unwilling participant however, recent media projections indicate once drawn south they strategically prepare for this invasion.

The Lord God through Ezekiel instructs the Russian confederation to prepare for battle and to be a protector of the alliance, arming them with defensive and offensive weapons. (Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them; Ezekiel 38-7). Russia today remains the chief arm supplier to the many enemies encamped around Israel with it's weapons exports increasing due to petroleum revenue by several key members of the alliance. The Russian Federation has rapidly positioned itself in the north, south, east and west threatening N.A.T.O. supremacy and the security of Europe.

Iran an historical enemy of Israel continues to defy Western powers in its desire to produce nuclear weapons and threaten the security of many nations. The prophet Ezekiel indicates that Iran once known as Persia will be the main power broker for the Islamic side of the alliance with Libya which controls much of the African Union consisting of several Islamic states such as Sudan, Nigeria and Somalia. The prophecy also known as the Battle of Gog and Magog indicates that once this alliance is formed and strengthened they will turn their eyes and attention to Israel to destroy and plunder their wealth. It is at this moment however when this great alliance makes a critical mistake in not recognizing that it is the Lord God that holds the title deed to Israel. (Behold, he that keepeth Israel, shall neither slumber nor sleep; Pslam 121:4)

Ezekiel as was the case for many of the Prophets of the Lord God was given a vision of the future and yet describe events and weapons based on examples of their day, not knowing the modern terms for tanks, missiles, fighter jets, bombs and machine guns. The horror these holy vessels of God witnessed must of been staggering and to imagine the evil of man to cause such devastation and death upon each other. While these men chosen by God must have experienced great fear yet this did not prevent them from recording the message as given to warn us of things to come. The Lord God did rightly chose these men, knowing they would not fail to bear the burden of such a message even at the threat of torture or death. For many of the Prophets of Israel who stood in the gap against wicked kings and princes along with the religious authority, death was a certainty.

We will continue to examine this prophecy provided to us as a word of warning to those who would seek to harm Israel, the Apple of the Eye of God. Part 2 of my commentary on the Gog/Magog Battle will identify the divine plan of God for the restoration and redemption of Israel in these "Last Days". The gathering of the House of Israel from every nation, the building of the Third Temple and the expected arrival of the Messiah, Moshiach Ben David.

Good post Rodney. I used to think gog-magog war preceded Armageddon, but now it tend to think it comes after satan is loosed the second time.

Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.

what do you think? Do you think gog and magog wars will occur twice or just once?

Actually Marianne there is but one yet because of the great significance and destruction during this event the Lord God again invokes the name of Gog/Magog after the Millenial reign of Yeshua. Satan will be loosed after the 1,000 years and will go out to deceive the nations and gather to himself a vast army comprised of those born to men and women during the reign of Yeshua. Though Satan is bound for the duration mentioned above sin will be evident in the hearts of men and women, as was the case with a 1/3 of the angels, many will rebel with Satan. These will be cast into the Lake of Fire.
